Back End Software Engineer Job Description

Our growing company is seeking a contract Back End Engineer who will own backend projects and milestones in the development of our B2B SaaS product. The ideal candidate will meet aggressive sprint / release milestones.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need strong communication and execution skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prototype, implement, and debug product features and database enhancements
• Author engineering scripts wrapped in Lambda
• Author API endpoints
• Collaborate with our other front-end, backend and DevOps engineers
• Develop documentation and promote best engineering practices
• Join brief bi-weekly engineering calls to share dev updates

Role Requirements:

• 4+ years in SaaS development; enterprise software experience is a plus
• Experience in agile development/scrum
• Comfortable diving into new technologies, rapid prototyping
• Commitment to relentless creativity, iteration and experimentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in product roadmapping and milestone planning is a plus

Technology Requirements:

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
• Comfort with Python, JavaScript, GoLang, and any other
• Fluency in web framework architectures (Django, Rails)
• Familiarity with graph databases (Neo4J)
• Knowledge of semantic web technologies
• Broad understanding of DevOps components (Infrastructure as Code)
• Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and Neptune, are a plus
